About Us

Who are we?

Our members mainly live in Gravesend and Meopham and come from a variety of backgrounds.  What we have in common is a sense of fun and fellowship and a desire to make a difference both in our local community and internationally.

We meet regularly, face to face now at Bartellas, and combine the charity work we do with having fun. That is what makes our club unique in many ways. We don't mind getting our hands dirty, give us a task & we will try & tackle it! But we have fun doing it.

The speakers at our meetings come from a wide range of organisations and talk on various and interesting topics. Many of them come from organisations we have helped over the years. BEAMS, Ellenor Hospice, Darenth Valley premature baby unit are just some of these. Our aim is to combine fun and friendship with giving something back to the community. We particularly like rolling our sleeves up and tackling something practical. By way of example a number of us have just acted as marshals at the Ellenor Twilight walk, helped with a party organised by Beams for the young people it serves and helped the local Sea Cadets purchase paddle boards for their members & to teach others about this sport. The Club is willing to consider new ways of “doing our bit”.

If you think this is something you would like to experience as well, please see our news page and contact us. We will always make new members welcome & there is no barrier of age, sex, disability or race in our club. We also welcome couples who feel they want to give something back to a community they have lived in.

Where do we meet?

We meet roughly every two weeks at Bartellas restaurant in Meopham, Kent. We meet at 7:30 for 8pm, usually with a speaker - details will be published via our calendar which you can see above. You are more than welcome to come along - but please let us know in advance
