On Bank Holiday Monday, May 5th, volunteers from the Rotary Club of Gravesend and Meopham helped ensure a safe and successful Meopham May Day parade. Organized by the Friends of Meopham Community Academy (FOMCA), the event required careful traffic management to protect the floats and the public following the procession. Rotarians took up designated spots along the route, temporarily closing roads to stop traffic until it was safe to reopen.
The day was a great success for the local community, filled with festive floats and lively crowds. However, among the many memorable moments from the parade, the highlight of the event was undoubtedly seeing a pig being taken for a walk on a harness.
